Groundbreaking Surgery in the Czech Republic

17. 10. 2024

On September 24, 2024, a historic event took place in the surgical department of the University Hospital Olomouc. An experienced orthopedic team from UH Olomouc, led by MUDr. Radim Kalina, Ph.D., performed the first surgery using the revolutionary Regeneten implant, which represents a new hope for patients suffering from various rotator cuff injuries, supporting tissue healing and regeneration.

The Regeneten implant is made from biological material – bovine collagen – which aids in healing and boasts excellent biocompatibility. Its unique structure promotes the growth of the patient’s own cells, increasing the chances of successful rehabilitation and minimizing the risk of recurrent rotator cuff tears.

The introduction of the Regeneten implant into Czech healthcare is a significant step forward.

Patients who underwent the surgery will be closely monitored in the following weeks and months to evaluate the effectiveness of the implant and its impact on tissue regeneration. If proven successful, the Regeneten implant may be incorporated into further practice and become more accessible to Czech patients.

The first surgery with the Regeneten implant in Olomouc opens new possibilities in the field of regenerative medicine and brings hope to patients facing challenging health problems.

This significant event was also reported by Czech media.
