XVII. National Congress of Wound Management with International Participation
In the days of 24th January and 25th January 2019 the 17th National Congress with international participation was held with the theme – Interdisciplinary cooperation in the wound management and skin defects. The Congress has traditionally been held in the premises of the University of Pardubice, under the auspices of the Czech Wound Management Society, in cooperation with the Faculty of Healthcare Studies of the Pardubice University and the Pardubice Hospital, the Pardubice Region Hospital Inc. and others. All 2230 participants to this event were cordially invited by the Senior Consultant MUDr. Ivo Burešof the geriatric department of the Pardubice Hospital.
For the first time this year, the Wound Care Division presented a broad portfolio of Smith & Nephew materials. to which The entire presentation at this conference was targeted at the wound dressing and negative pressure wound therapy. All the instruments were displayed at the stand: Renasys, Pico, Versajet and materials for the negative pressure wound therapy. There were workshops and discussions on the negative pressure wound therapy.
The revolutionary MolecuLight imaging device with the patented technology created by MolecuLight Inc. attracted a lot of interest too.
The Congress was designed for practitioners, surgeons, dermatologists, geriatricians, diabetologists, internists, and other medical doctors who deal with wound care. It was further designated for nurses from both outpatient and inpatient care facilities, as well as from home care.
Content of lectures dealt with the new findings in wound management, new materials, atypical procedures, wound infections, debridement, peripheral vascular diseases such as etiol factor -surgical and conservative procedures, chronic venous insufficiency, decubitus, diabetic foot, burns and factors affecting wound healing.
We were able to pride ourselves on our representative stand, a lot of innovations, a wonderful atmosphere at the stand, a professional approach and a great enthusiasm that was perceived and positively evaluated throughout the conference by those who spent time at our stand and paid a visit to us and shew an interest in our materials.
